Once you make this 3 ingredient Cheesy Naan recipe, you'll never look back. This dish was inspired by an Indian restaurant I went to in France. We all ordered one of their cheesy naans and ended up ordering double because they were so delicious!

    3 Ingredient Cheesy Naan

If you love my simple bread dough recipe, you've got to try out my Gรถzleme recipe (a Turkish-style stuffed flatbread) or my Caprese Flatbreads - they only require two ingredients for the dough and are such a crowd-pleaser.

If you're looking for a dish to serve alongside these naan, then check out my spinach dal using chickpeas as the legume!

Ingredients For This 3 Ingredient Cheesy Naan Recipe

There are lots of cheese-filled naan breads out there, but none like this. I take little credit for this recipe, it was inspired by an Indian restaurant my friends and I went to when visiting Lyon, France. We ordered a few of their cheesy naans and were overwhelmed by their flavour, texture, and pure deliciousness.

We couldn't figure out what cheese they were using for the filling, but after eating and eating, we eventually realised that it was La Vache Qui Rit cheese, a french brand of processed cheese that I grew up with in France. You can buy it in the UK too, it's got the red cow on the front and is called the Laughing Cow.

So, for this recipe, all you'll need are three ingredients:

    • Self-raising flour
    • Yoghurt (I used greek yoghurt)
    • La Vache Qui Rit/ Laughing Cow cheese

    3-Ingredient Cheesy Naan

Despite the fact that this recipe is like bready gold on it's own, you could add a few different ingredients into the filling if you fancied it! Here are a few suggestions:

    • garlic, minced
    • spring onion, finely sliced
    • cooked mince meat (pork, beef...)
    • coriander, finely sliced
    • chilli

I also love making my 3-ingredient bagel recipe that follows a similar method to this cheesy naan. Go check it out if you fancy!

    Ingredients

    • 200g self-raising flour
    • 180g greek yoghurt
    • 12 pieces La Vache Qui Rit cheese

    Instructions
    ย

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine your self-raising flour and yoghurt. Mix and then knead for a few minutes until you get a soft dough. If the dough is sticky, add more self-raising flour. Cover and set aside.
    • While your dough is resting, combine your cheese in a little bowl using a fork. Feel free to add in any other fillings at this point if you'd like to.
    • Once the dough has rested for 5 minutes, slice it into 4 equal parts. Form the dough into little balls. Grab a piece of the dough and pat it down into a small circle. Place a quarter of the cheese mixture into the centre of the dough and fold up the dough around the cheese, pinching to seal it in.ย Flatten out the ball with your hands into a medium-sized oval/circle shape, around 4-5 inches in diameter. Repeat this for the other balls of dough.
    • Grab a pan and place it on high heat. Gently place one of the naans into the dry frying pan. Fry on each side for 3 minutes or until golden and coloured. Repeat this with all the naans. Remove from the pan and serve up with coriander and chilli oil! Enjoy!
