This 5-Minute Pizza Wrap is easier and quicker than a traditional pizza and is a great option for when you're short on time but want something speedy and delicious. The tortilla wrap is topped with pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and any other additional toppings you fancy, and then baked in the air fryer or the oven for 5 minutes.

Obviously, you don't have a thick or crusty pizza dough in this recipe (if you are then check out my 30-minute homemade stuffed crust pizza recipe), but I am being serious when I say that the flavours are still really good. And that pizza craving, is satisfied to a healthier degree.

The toppings are also super customisable, and I'll be providing a few different options further down this blog post!

    • 5-Minute Pizza Wrap

    Why You'll Love This Recipe

Quick: This pizza wrap literally takes 5 minutes to cook in the air fryer. It's an ideal snack or dinner for when you have zero time.

Customisable: I've topped this tortilla pizza wrap with marinara sauce, pepperoni and mozzarella grated cheese. But you can add whatever you fancy on it. Some of my favourite toppings are caramelised red onion, goats cheese, and arugula (rocket).

Air fryer: you can totally cook this tortilla pizza in the oven, but I find it way quicker and easier to just cook it in the air fryer.

    Ingredients and Substitutions

Tortilla wrap: I'm using medium-sized white flour tortilla wraps for this recipe. You can totally use wholewheat wraps if you fancy, or gluten-free ones (I tried these sweet potato wraps recently that were really good!). If you want to make mini pizza wraps, you could use taco-sized tortilla wraps.

Pizza tomato sauce: I used a pre-made pizza tomato marinara sauce that was delicious. If you don't have that, you can make your own by frying off some minced garlic and finely chopped onion in olive oil for a few minutes until caramelised, then add in chopped tomatoes and season with oregano, salt, and pepper. Leave to simmer for 15 minutes and then your sauce will be ready!

Mozzarella cheese: I've used grated mozzarella for this recipe, but you could use whole mozzarella and tear it onto the pizza wrap. If you don't want to use mozzarella cheese, feel free to use grated cheddar or goats cheese. For a plant-based option, choose your favourite vegan cheese!

Pepperoni: I love a pepperoni pizza, so when I'm craving one but don't want to buy a whole pizza, these tortilla pizzas are literally perfect. If you don't have pepperoni slices, you could use chorizo slices. For some different meat alternatives, you could add on shredded cooked chicken, cooked minced sausage, or proscuitto.

Find the full quantities and recipe list in the recipe card further down this blog. I haven't tested the recipe with the substitutes suggested, they're just my recommendations, so adjust the recipe how you see fit!

    More Topping Options

Caramelised onions: fry off some onions with balsamic vinegar and a dash of sugar, low and slow until caramelised and gorgeous, then add them to your pizza wrap as a topping.

Fried red bell peppers: this gives mediterranean vibes, just fry them off in a pan before adding them on top of your tortilla wrap.

Shredded chicken: get some precooked chicken breast and shred it. You can optionally toss it in ½ teaspoon paprika for a bit of flavour, and then add to your pizza wrap before placing in the air fryer or oven.

Olives: half the olives and add to the pizza wrap as a topping before cooking.

Goats cheese: this goes really well with the caramelised onions!

Nduja: this is a southern Italian sausage paste that's gorgeously spicy! Add to the pizza before cooking and then drizzle with hot honey once cooked.

Mushrooms: finely slice mushrooms and then you can optionally fry them in butter before then adding them to your pizza wrap.

I haven't tested the recipe with the variations suggested, they're just my recommendations, so adjust the recipe how you see fit!

Step by Step Instructions with Photos

Topping the pizza wrap with marinara sauce.

Step 1: Preheat the oven or air fryer to 180C / 350F.

On an oven or air fryer tray, place down your tortilla wrap. Top with pizza tomato sauce and spread evenly, leaving ½ inch gap around the edge of the tortilla wrap.

Top the pizza wrap with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese on a blue tray.

Step 2: Top the pizza wrap with grated mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices. Place in the oven for 5 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the sides of the tortilla wrap begin to turn golden and crispy.

Step 3: Remove the pizza wrap from the air fryer or oven and slice into 6 pieces. Top with fresh basil, hot honey, or chilli oil, and enjoy!

    What To Do with Leftovers

Storage: Once your tortilla pizza wrap is cool, place in an airtight container or wrap in aluminium foil and place the fridge for up to 3 days.

Freezing: you can totally freeze the pizza wrap! I would layer the slices of pizza wrap on parchment paper and place into an airtight container. Place into the freezer (don't forget to label with the date and contents) for up to 3 months. Then leave to defrost in the fridge overnight before reheating.

Reheating: from cold, you can eat it as is. But if you'd like to warm it up, I'd recommend placing the pizza wrap back into the oven or air fryer for another 5 minutes at 160C / 320F until warmed through.

    FAQs

    Is this pizza wrap gluten-free?

It is if you use a gluten-free tortilla! Just pick out your favourite one!

    Is this tortilla pizza vegan?

Not this specific recipe, but if you want to make it vegan, make sure to use vegan cheese and top the pizza wrap with some fried vegetables like caramelised onions, fried bell peppers, or sun-dried tomatoes.

Should I place the pizza on a baking sheet?

You can do, if you're worried about it sticking to your tray!
