In this blog, I'm going to be showing you my three favourite dumpling dipping sauces: Spicy Achar Dip, Smoky Creamy Sauce, and a Soy and Garlic Dipping Sauce! They're super easy to make and taste delicious!

    3 best dumpling dipping sauces

    AD - Very Lazy Food

    1. Spicy Achar Dip

This dumpling dipping sauce has a kick to it, but a tasty one. I first had this dipping sauce when making Momos from Nepal. It's the traditional pairing sauce for their national dumpling and is one of a kind. The sauce uses Szechuan peppercorns as the dip's source of spice, and boy do they bring power to the recipe!

    Spicy Achar Dip

Here are the ingredients for the sauce:

    • ½ tin of tomatoes
    • 1 teaspoon Very Lazy Chilli Paste
    • 1 teaspoon Szechuan Peppercorns, toasted and crushed
    • 2 tsps Very Lazy Garlic Paste
    • 1 teaspoon olive oil
    • ½ bunch of fresh coriander
    • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    Very Lazy Chilli paste

Simply add all of these ingredients into a blender and you're ready to start dipping!

    2. Smoky Creamy Sauce

I absolutely love this dipping sauce because it's different to the standard spicy oily dipping sauces we tend to see. This one is served cold with crispy bits of bacon, dill or chives, and a thick yoghurt base. It's a great sauce to serve with pierogi and if you're looking for some pirogi side dishes, then I have some great options for you.

    Smoky Creamy Sauce

    For this recipe, you'll need:

    • 2 rashes of bacon, sliced
    • 2 tablespoon plain yoghurt
    • 1 teaspoon Very Lazy Garlic Paste
    • 1 teaspoon ground pepper
    • ½ tablespoon chopped chives/dill
    Very Lazy Garlic Paste

Simply fry up the pieces of bacon until crispy. Mix the remaining ingredients into a small bowl and then transfer the smoky strips of bacon in with the yoghurt mixture. Then get your favourite dumplings (Pierogi or Pelmeni are my favourite to eat with this sauce), and enjoy!

    3. Soy & Garlic Dipping Sauce

Ahhh now for the sweet, tangy, and spicy dipping sauce. A perfect pairing for Pork and Chive dumplings. There is no chopping or cooking involved in this recipe, only stirring!

    Soy and Garlic Dipping Sauce

You'll need the following pantry ingredients for this addictive dipping sauce:

    • 2 tablespoon light soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
    • ½ tablespoon rice wine vinegar
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 1 teaspoon Very Lazy Ginger Paste
    • 1 teaspoon Very Lazy Garlic Paste
    • 1 tablespoon chilli oil
    Very Lazy Ginger Paste

Simply combine all of the above ingredients into a small bowl, and then dip away!
